SHA invites students to kick off the new academic year with a relaxed outdoor gathering in Kjarnaskógur on Saturday, 22 August 2026.

The Kjarni Party is open to new, future, and current students at the University of Akureyri. It is a great opportunity to meet new people, reconnect after the summer, and enjoy time together in one of Akureyri’s most beautiful outdoor areas before the autumn semester gets fully underway.

The programme includes a barbecue, outdoor activities, good company, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you are just starting at HA, returning after the summer break, or simply want to meet fellow students, this is the perfect way to begin the year.
